Forever Q&A: No GDKP, Onyxia 40-Player, Tarnished Undermine Reals
Thursday’s Forever stream bans gold-bid raids, confirms 40-player Onyxia’s Lair, and brings Season of Discovery’s Tarnished Undermine Real currency over.

GDKP is out
Gold-bid / GDKP raids are not allowed. Official pitch: once that loot style takes over, it crowds out guilds and prices newer players out of the run. They also tied it to gold laundering. The same answer said they will watch the economy and punish gold buyers harder than they have in other Classic-style modes. Treat that as policy, not a published ban-wave table.
Tarnished Undermine Reals
Josh Greenfield said Tarnished Undermine Reals are coming to Forever. In Season of Discovery that currency bought dungeon-side catch-up — gear, patterns, reagents. Forever has not published how you earn them or what the vendor sells. Do not copy the SoD catalog.
Raids and dungeons
Every tier still has both a 10-player and a 20-player raid. They are not starting with flex sizing. The 10-player raids are meant to be the next step after a dungeon group, and they will have a lot of bosses. Dungeons and raids have one difficulty. Horde and Alliance still do not group.
40-player raids are coming. The first named one is Onyxia’s Lair. That is not every tier. Do not pin it to the December 9 unlock from this stream — the Q&A did not give that Tuesday a boss list.
PvP, Oceanic, names, transmog
No Rated PvP. Honor sits on a track that resets each season / tier, and they are changing Honor gains so sitting in Alterac Valley is not the default farm. The new battleground is still Darkspear Islands. Battlegrounds are the exception to ruleset isolation — those queues are shared. Swapping rulesets still needs a character transfer.
Forever is realmless, not regionless. Oceanic players host on Oceania data centers and share the US auction house. Grouping overseas can mean worse ping. Two-part names are required — the second field is not optional — and the full name is unique across rulesets in a region.
Transmog still follows silhouette: a Paladin in a cloth chest needs a cloth appearance on that slot. New: a set can store more than one armor type per slot and swap to the matching look when you equip that type.
Skyborne lore fill-in: they lived in the Skywall and took on elemental magic without a Sunwell. Quel’Thalas is a later ambition, not a launch start. High Elves in Northshire was considered and dropped. Addon rules stay the Midnight Mainline API.
