Ula'tek Stone Venom Can No Longer Be Outranged
A live hotfix stretches Stone Venom to 50,000 yards, so Heroic and Mythic tanks can no longer drop the Phase 1 DoT by standing on the far Phase 2 platform.
Stone Venom on Ula’tek now has a 50,000-yard range (was 100). Wowhead datamined the change on live realms Friday. It is not in a new dated hotfix blog heading yet.
This is not another difficulty pass. The September 15 Stone Venom damage cut stays as published. The hotfix only closes a range check.
What it changes
On Heroic and Mythic, Ula’tek rotates 90 degrees mid–Phase 1. That leaves one Phase 2 side platform more than 100 yards away. Tanks who took the last Phase 1 Stone Venom to the far side dropped the DoT for the start of the split. Some Heroic groups built around that. Mythic was less of a planned skip — leftover duration is shorter — but a favorable rotate still turned the tick off.
After the hotfix, the far platform is still in range. Assign the last Phase 1 application to the tank who can live it through the split. Heroic leftover time is most of Phase 2; Mythic is a shorter carry-in.
If a later September 18+ hotfix list mentions Stone Venom range, that is this change landing on the blog — do not rewrite this post.
