Method Takes World First Mythic Vashnik — Race Hits the Halfway Mark
Method downs Mythic Vashnik the Malignant in 11 pulls, claiming their first Mythic boss World First in seven years and pushing Venomous Abyss RWF to 4/8.
Method just put a stamp on the Venomous Abyss Race to World First: World First Mythic Vashnik the Malignant in only 11 pulls — a clean mid-raid kill after years without a Mythic boss WF for the guild.
Why it matters
Vashnik is the halfway checkpoint of the eight-boss raid. After a glacial Heroic-split open and a scramble of early Mythic firsts (Nek’zali, Lost Explorers, Entombed Sentinels), Method’s kill flips the narrative from “who can even enter Mythic?” to “who owns the middle of the raid?”
Coverage notes this as Method’s first Mythic boss World First in roughly seven years. Liquid, Evolve, and others piled onto Vashnik the same day — Evolve took World 2nd soon after — and the top of the board settled around 4/8 Mythic heading into weekly reset.
Comp snapshot
Wowhead’s kill report showed a heavy ranged setup with two Blood DKs, a four-healer mix (Holy Paladin / Holy Priest / Resto Shaman / Preservation Evoker), and a ranged core heavy on Evokers, Boomkins, BM Hunters, and a Demo Lock.
What’s next
With August 25 maintenance landing class tuning and the first full Season 2 vault week, expect faster Mythic splits and a push toward Sszorak / Twin Fangs. Related: Liquid Entombed Sentinels WF · Aug 25 reset.
