Midnight: Eclipse Announced as Patch 12.2
BlizzCon names the next major Midnight patch Eclipse — Season 3, a Worldcore raid, a showdown with Xal’atath, and Midnight’s first legendary weapon.
Blizzard named patch 12.2 on the BlizzCon stage: Midnight: Eclipse. This is the next major Midnight beat after Curse of Ula’tek and the still-on-PTR 12.1.5 Labyrinths package — not a live date. No go-live week yet.
What they locked
- Season 3 rides with Eclipse
- The story turn is a direct fight with Xal’atath at the Worldcore
- Worldcore is the announced raid for the patch
- No class-tuning wave here. The next scheduled Linxy / Kaivax check-in on the Season 2 roadmap is still September 22
Midnight’s Edge
Eclipse also brings Midnight’s first legendary weapon. Midnight’s Edge is a caster dagger. The legendary questline starts after you finish the Worldcore raid. That is the first new legendary weapon track since Dragonflight’s Fyr’alath / Nasz’uro pair — Blizzard announced the name on X during the show.
The Last Titan
The opening ceremony also ran a The Last Titan teaser. Blizzard said they do not have a real pitch yet because it would spoil Midnight. Treat it as a title card, not a systems reveal.
12.1.5 is still the next live content drop. Eclipse is the Season 3 target after that.
