Bonus Rolls Need Loot Eligibility Starting September 1
Kaivax: from next week’s maintenance, raid Bonus Rolls only work on bosses you are still eligible to loot that week, on each difficulty.
Kaivax posted a raid-loot change for next week’s maintenance (September 1 in NA): Bonus Rolls will only fire on encounters where you are still eligible to receive loot.
What changes
On each difficulty, once you are locked out of a boss’s personal loot for the week, killing it again will not give another Bonus Roll. Season 1 (and the first weeks of Season 2) let people bank coins, kill a target boss on extra lockouts, and roll it repeatedly — the usual pattern was save coins for Heroic Ula’tek (or similar) and farm extra kills the same week.
That farm is the thing being closed. One Bonus Roll window per boss per difficulty per week, tied to being loot-eligible.
Blizzard’s note: this is a change from Season 1 behavior, and they think it “more closely aligns with how loot works in general.”
What does not change yet
This is raid Bonus Rolls (including Nebulous Voidcores on raid bosses). It lands with scheduled weekly maintenance next week, not a mid-week hotfix. This week’s lockouts are unchanged.
If you were planning to hold coins through extra Heroic reclears after you already looted the boss, spend them on a kill you are still eligible for, or wait and assume one roll per lockout after Sept 1.
